Meet Rhys Ganderton
“I tear, layer, and stitch fragments of life into stories.”
Hi, I’m Rhys – a collage artist based in London, fascinated by how fragments come together to tell a bigger story. I work with torn magazines, textured papers, and spontaneous forms to create portraits and scenes that explore identity, memory, and emotion. Every piece is an improvisation—a quiet conversation between chaos and control.
I regularly teach workshops to help others find their own visual voice through collage. You don’t need to be “good at art”—you just need curiosity and scissors.

“To me, collage is a metaphor for how we live: nothing is ever whole from the start—we’re made of pieces, moments, places, people.”
I draw inspiration from classical portraiture, global textiles, street photography, and daily emotions. What I love is contrast—between past and present, smooth and torn, bold and fragile.
